It’s been a while

I know it has been a while since I have posted things have been a little on the wild side here but I have been knitting like crazy and have manged to finish 2 big projects! The first one has been waiting and waiting for me to finish it I started it way bay in October or November I think. Baileigh’s sweater is finished as of last night!

I used the Cable Coat with Hood from Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino the yarn I used is Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo color 134 I think it took around 9 balls and I used a size 3 needle. I love the yarn and the sweater came out great it will be a nice jacket for her this spring and summer. I was just glad to get thins one done before she out grew it!

The second on is for my ISE pal I made her a full size clapotis. I used knit picks dye your own silk merino blend and I dyed it with shades of blue and tan. I love the way it turned out.

Life has been busy with work and the boys I have running around like a crazy woman. Patrick and Jacob just had birthdays and Chandlers birthday is on Monday. I can’t believe that I have a 14 and 12 year old and that baby is going to be 9! Wow I am feeling pretty old.

I am going to be running a contest soon for my blogiversery, I am not sure what kind of contest it is going to be yet but it will be for some good stuff! So make sure you check back!

Have a great day and Happy knitting!

In other news last week was DS#3 school play and he was an acorn. We were asked to make their costumes and I was going to make him a nice big nut but I thought that after I got him in it and stuffed and all sewen shut that he would no doubt have to go to the rest room so plan b foam board felt fabric a nut hat and we made a sandwich board

He had fun and looked cute I have been knitting getting some thing ready for pictures. Have a happy knitting day!!

Insert witty title here

The last month was very uninteresting and I really haven’t had much to blog about, and really haven’t been interested in blogging but I am hopping that will change. I got my cast off 2 weeks ago and have slowly gotten back into the swing of things. Hubby is very happy about this he didn’t like going to work and then coming home to do my work 🙂

I have been doing a lot of sewing lately just a few project bags I will take pictures when I can get my batteries back from the boys they steal them for the xbox controllers. As for the sewing I have gotten back into it after a very long break the last time I used my sewing machine was for wee mans halloween costume. I will be making him a new costume this one is for his school play he will be playing a nut and needs to look like a nut so he says I told him that he didn’t have to dress up to look like  nut he did not find the humor in this. 🙂 But I did. So after much consulting with my mom we figured out how to make him a great little nut. Should be fun I only have 2 weeks to do it nothing like waiting till the last minute to get things started.

On the knittinf front I got my pals bag done for the HSKS 4 swap I am happy with the way it turned out.

I have made a lot of progress on Baileighs sweater yes its still not done. we now have front back and one sleeve I want to get this done so she can wear it a few times before she out grows it. So pictures of that will be taken as well. I am glad that I made the 9-12 month size! My Hogwarts Sock Swap pal socks are almost done as well, but I can’t take pictures of that just yet. I have started another monkey sock in STR Moonlight Revel I like how they are coming out but those are on hold so are the Jaywalkers for my bf  Trish. I joined ISE 6 and have the yarn and pattern already to go just have to start but I want to get the sweater and second sock done first. I asked my pal what kind of scarf she would make herself if she had the time and she said a modern scarf so tell me what do you think would be a good modern scarf I was thinking a clap, so what do you think?? Now if there were just more hours in the day to get everything done I would be very happy.

I am off to get some more done on the sweater! Happy knitting!!

Overdue

Things have been a little nuts around here the last week or so and I haven’t had much time for blogging but I hope that is going to change very soon. JI had a great thanks giving with my family I haven’t seen them since July so it was really nice to see everyone and I got to snuggle with my Baileigh.

I did manage to get her blanket done about an hour before we left to go home. I didn’t get a picture but my brother is supposed to be sending me oneJ Together my mom and I made way too much food and we all ate too much! It was nice spending time with her. The drive home went well I am finally able to knit in the car without getting car sick. So I got half of a scarf done and I can’t remember where I put it to get a picture of it. I have been pretty busy on the knitting front. I have finished my ISE scarf except for blocking, wrote a new pattern for a cabled hat and knit 2 of them almost have the back of Baileigh’s sweater done. Have one sock finished and  started another hat. These are things that I would love to show you all but they are Christmas gifts and the people they are for read my blog so I can’t show just yet J  This was also a very good mail week for me. I got home to find a knitty swap package waiting on me. It contained some very nice Socks That Rock lightweight in Rocktober and Moonlight Revel. Not sure what pattern they are going to be yet. I got my HSS 2 package from my wonderful pal Padma Chang aka Heather the wonderful woman that brings you Craftlit she sent me a great packagePhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket The socks fit perfectly and I love the yarn! Thank you so much Leah! You were an awesome SP!!!

Well I think that is all today I hope to post later this week with something to show you!! Until then happy knitting!!

So I am finally getting around to it

I know that I was going to post over the weekend to prove that I still do knit but then life got in the way…..so I had some time today to actually get things done and wanted to post while I had a chance. I have some exciting news my lys has agreed to sell my handpainted yarns and I have sold all but 3 out of 8 that I gave her!!  I will be dying some more this week and I will post some pictures before I hand them over to her 🙂

On with the knitting!

I have been a bad Aunt I still have not finished taterbugs baby blanket in fact I frogged it because I didn’t like the way it was turning out so I am starting that over 🙂 But I have made her a little hat

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket I have enough of this yarn left to make her some booties I can’t remember what yarn I used I lost the ball band but I know that it is made from alpaca, silk, wool it is so soft!! I have also started a sweater for her using baby bamboo from sirdir I am really liking the way it knits up and how soft it is.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket the pattern I am using is from Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino it’s the cabled hoodie so cute I can’t wait to get it done!

I am almost finished with my hogwarts sock swap 2 socks I just have the cuff to go and then I can get them out. For my ISE 5 pal I have started and restarted and restarted one more time and then gave up with the yarn and decided on something else so I ditched the pure silk and mohair and went for the Noro silk garden and I was looking through some pattern books for stitch’s and in my barbara walker book I found the perfect lace stitch pattern so I decided to use it just make it a little different so I don’t have much done yet but here it is

So I think that is about if for now I won’t be on for a few days tomorrow is my 30th birthday so I will be out and about for a couple of days!! Happy knitting!!

Owl Post

I received my socks today from blogless Jeane she is such a sweetheart! She made me my own pair of Horcrux Sock in wonderful Gryffindor colors!
horcrux gryffindor socks
They fit perfectly!

Socks, Crystal Palace 1.5 circs never tried them can’t wait to cast on, she sent the left overs from the socks , some chocolate drink mix, apple cider, a copy of the Horcrux sock pattern and some cute stitch markers

Thank you so much Jeane!! I feel so spoiled!

Ok so the drama continues

Well the toe is fine I like the different color. I cast off and looking at the picture it looks great jaywalkerbut it’s way too wide!! It is 11″ around I don’t know what to do now I cast on the other one with a bigger needle but it looked even worse. So now I am back to square one not knowing what to do my pals feet are not that wide and if I go down a needle size the fabric will be so stiff that it won’t be comfortable to wear. Has anyone had this problem? If so what have you done to fix it? I am almost at the point a picking another yarn but I don’t want to give up yet. So for now I am knitting other things until I find the right answer for these socks.
